| Associate Director CA Open (J#28146) Title: Associate Director Company: NeurogesX Description NeurogesX is a biopharmaceutical company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our focus is on the development of effective treatments that relieve chronic pain and improve quality of life. Our San Mateo office is looking for an Associate Director, Project Management. This critical position is responsible for: Providing overall cross functional project planning, analysis and reporting, resource planning, and budgetary support to drug development projects. This includes the definition and tracking of detailed deliverables, processes and metrics from all phases of pharmaceutical product development from pre-IND through market launch. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with department project team leaders. Major Responsibilities: * Oversees the planning, implementation and monitoring of all ongoing projects to ensure that key milestones are effectively managed and achieved * Facilitates achievement of project objectives, resource allocation, and progress against timelines with the goal of accelerating and streamlining the product development process * Develops, monitors, and delivers integrated product plans throughout product lifecycles * Identifies and resolves issues requiring modifications to project plans and spearheads timely accomplishment of objectives * Primary contact for the resolution of cross-functional delivery issues, priorities and conflicts that have not been resolved with in the teams * Meets with functional area heads regularly regarding their mission-oriented project tasks to ensure the project/program milestones are met Works with project teams to ensure effective integration of project goals with the business objectives * Arranges project team meetings and is responsible for the preparation of agenda and minutes * Leads the assessment of project-related financial cost data and ensures that finances/resources for project team activities are managed effectively to budget. This includes working with project teams to develop and track all projected actual expenses * Critically evaluates goals and budgets and develops rationale for all deviations and exceptions * Monitors CRO and vendor contract and payment schedules to deliverables * Participation in vendor/business partner relationships where such work is integral to the timely execution of the project plans * Participation in vendor/business partner relationships where such work is integral to the timely execution of the project plans * Proactively facilitates optimal resource allocation on multiple project teams to meet aggressive timelines for all regulatory submissions and product launches * Works with the project teams to identify internal and external resources necessary for successful program completion * Develop regular reporting mechanisms for executive and board level update on status of the various projects * Other duties as assigned.
